Maybe you have started a luxury purse collection. Or maybe you have started to think about purchasing a luxury purse or starting your collection?
You don’t know where to start? Or you just don’t know what you want?
Well, I am here to help you out! I have been a lover of luxury purses for about 6 years now. I don’t have a lot, but I am a strong believer to save up and buy one purse a year. Add one staple to your collection every year, to treat yourself and not to go overboard.
One of the reasons why I like to do the “once a year” method is that it allows me to research and consider the pros and cons of the next piece that I am going to add to my collection. This way, I make the most calculated decision possible when it comes to these big purchases.

Here’s a round up of the “staple” luxury purses to add to your collection!
A Kick Ass Work Tote: Louis Vuitton Neverfull
In my opinion, no collection is complete without a work horse tote. You need something roomy, something durable. You need something that is going to last FOREVER.
My favourite work tote is a Neverfull. I love that you can put a TON of weight in it. If you get the MM or GM size (medium and large), you can fit an iPad, laptop, notebooks, and basically anything else in your collection.
I own 2 Neverfull’s because you can’t go wrong with it. I love that over time, the strap gets worn in and it gets MORE comfy to carry. I have had 1 of mine for a few years now and it continues to make me happy. I am rough on my Neverfull and it doesn’t show basic wear and tear.
A Chic Bag for Going Out: Chanel Classic Double Flap
This is a pricey bag, so I definitely recommend looking on the pre-loved market so that you can get a deal. Fashionphile is one of my favourite places to buy pre-loved.
This bag is super classy. If you are dressing up for a fancy dinner or going to a wedding, a Chanel Double Flap is the perfect bag to have by your side!
Casual Running for Coffee: Hermes Evelyne
No round up of luxury bags is complete without a Hermes. I don’t feel that the Birkin or Kelly is obtainable for the average person, since their hefty price tag and unobtainable status instore, is not for the light-hearted.
However, if you are looking for a fabulous cross body to add to your collection, the Evelyne is a beautiful piece to add. What I love is that you can choose your favourite colour since it comes in a white variety. This is a great bag for grabbing coffee or just doing errands.
Going for Drinks with Friends: YSL Wallet On Chain
If you are going for drinks with friends at a local pub, a Chanel Double Flap is just too much for the average person as you don’t want to be THAT girl.
However, the YSL wallet on chain is great for throwing in your money, phone, and ID to head to the bar. It’s a great piece that can go with a variety of outfits.
Going Shopping: Chanel Deauville
I just think this bag is so stinking cute! I love that it comes in Canvas and has a carefree feel. You can carry it with the handle or use the chain to throw it over your shoulder. It’s classy but you aren’t trying too hard.
I also love that this is a Chanel at a much better price point than the majority of pieces that you can get!
Being A Tourist: Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis
I am a big lover of the Pochette Metis and I wear mine just about everywhere. What I really love about it is that you actually need to learn how to open it! Seems a little crazy, however, I find that its hard for others to open, so you actually have less of a risk of being pick-pocketed.
I love that you can wear this bag casually going out around town and it surprisingly fits a ton of stuff!
Going For An Interview: Prada Galleria
You know the times that you want a well structured, put together, beautiful bag. One that isn’t so in-your-face. This Prada bag is a great addition to any collection.
It’s beautiful and structured, and can help you look super put together in your power suit!
A Fun Summer Bag: Chloe Marcie Crossbody
If you are looking for that fun bag that won’t be too heavy with a super-cute sundress, this is the bag for you. I love that it is kind of trendy, but will last the test of time. This is a great saddle bag that will look great in a light colour to go with your summer outfits.
A Fun Winter Bag: Gucci Dionysus
I added this as a fun winter bag, because it will be fabulous with your winter coat, but honestly this is a year round fabulous purse to any collection.
I love that you can get this with beautiful flowers to brighten up even the dreariest of winter days!
What is your favourite purse in your collection?
